Transfer News: Milner, Son Heung-Min and Assadi

As reported in The Guardian today, LFC are lining up behind North London team and recent FA Cup winners Arsenal in the race to bid for Manchester City player James Milner. The midfielder is rumoured to have informed Man City that he is ready for a transfer.

Rodgers, a firm admirer of Milner, will need to take on the Gunners off the pitch to top the alleged £10million offer they are planning to make for the English International player.

Meanwhile, Football Direct News reports that LFC are considering making a bid for South Korean Son Heung-Min. The striker who is known for his ability to play as both a first and second striker equally well currently plays for Bayer Leverkusen. When asked to comment on his playing style and the position in which he prefers to play, he commented:

“I don’t care where I play. The main thing is I’m in the game. I can play as a second striker or behind. What the coach says, I’ll do. I don’t have a favorite position. I’ll be anywhere and always on the throttle.”

With this flexible attitude, if Son joins the Redmen, it is likely to be as back up for Sturridge and Suarez.

Stoke City look set to make a bid for Oussama Assaidi in order to keep him at the club after his loan term ends as reported in The Stoke Sentinel today. As LFC will need a bigger squad next season, it was thought they might try and hold on to the Morroccan winger, however Mark Hughes, Manager at Stoke City has doubts:

“The ball is very much in Liverpool’s court because he is their player and I’m not saying I know what they are thinking.”
