Brendan Rodgers has shed some light on Daniel Sturridge’s injury in todays press conference ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Chelsea on Sunday at Anfield.

Sturridge came off early against Manchester City with a hamstring injury and subsequently missed last weekends nail bitter against Norwich.

amazon-liverpoolRodgers told the clubs official website:

“We will see. We’ll give it another 24 hours. He’s working hard with the medical team. So we shall see.”

“But if he’s not fit, we’ve coped before; we’ve managed before without a number of players. We’ll go into the game with confidence. We’ll assess that over the next 24 hours.”

Liverpool have a 5 point lead over Chelsea and with news that Mourinho may put out a weakened team, it would be a massive bonus to have the young English international fit for this battle royal.
