Martin Kelly comments on enforced career break

Martin Kelly the 24 year old LFC defender who has been on a sustained break has spoken to Liverpoolfc.com and said that the long break has served to harden his resolve to get back into the game next season.

Kelly, who picked up the injury to his cruciate ligament early in the 2013/2014 season, has also told the site that his character has been strengthened by the enforced break.

It’s been a testing time for the young player as he has played very little in this last season and has seen no European football at all. However, he remains optimistic and has commented;

“The last few months have been difficult. It was about being able to understand that you can’t play in games when we’re playing one game a week.

“But it’s definitely strengthened my character. I’ve just kept my head down and I’ve been trying to do extra work after training and in the gym.”
