Lucas Leiva loses patience with Twitter

LFC midfielder and Brazilian International Lucas Leiva seems to be having a rather stressful week. First of all, he hit out at the abuse he was receiving on the social media site, saying to his 1 million followers:

“I just want to clarify that I don’t know why a few people are abusing me here. I always used Twitter to be closer to my fans, nothing else.

“If someone is trying to change it , it won’t happen. I have a lot of respect for the fans who support me and the ones who don’t, I don’t care.

“I just want to enjoy my break now. Thanks.”

This has been followed by the 27 year olds decision to cut ties with his marketing company. He has told online followers that he has severed his connection with SMG and will make arrangements to give interviews to the media directly. This is certainly an unusual tactic. Lucas said:

“Dear followers, I decided to stop my relationship with a marketing company called SMG. I want to thanks all these years that we have worked.

“But I am making a few changes so at the moment any media/ interview should be direct with me. Thanks.”
