LFC Transfer news: Lucas Leiva

Lucas Leiva has spoken of his post-match Instagram comment on Twitter saying he meant to say  good-bye to the season and not to the club.

The Instagram post, which came in the wake of Liverpools 2-1 win over Newcastle United at the weekend, read:

“Yesterday I finished my 7th season with Liverpool. I want to thank the ones who supported me all this years. #thankyou #goodbye”

Taking to Twitter today, he rubbishes the suggestion that he was waving good-bye to the club saying

‘The goodbye that I said it is about the season that finished nothing else.’

The mid-fielder has faced a tough season with injuries that caused him to lose out on playing in the first team line up. In addition, he has also been left out of the World Cup squad.
