Brendan Rodgers has stated that Liverpool’s captain Steven Gerrard needed no words of advice after giving Chelsea the lead in Liverpool’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday.

Gerrards fumble late into the first half gave chelsea the lead that Liverpool could not repair.

lfc-booksRodgers said in his press confrence today that the slip was “over-analysed”.

“Steven is a guy who has picked himself up over many years after disappointments, and he will do it again,” Rodgers said in Friday’s press conference. “He’s a real, real good man.

“I think it’s been a wee bit over-analysed as well – the guy slipped, which can happen to anyone. Unfortunately it led to the goal. It happens and we move on.”

Liverpool will play Crystal Palace on Monday night while Manchester City travel to Liverpool to play Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday at 12:45pm.
