Fowler believes Manchester United will struggle again next season

Former LFC star Robbie Fowler has said that he believes Manchester United will finish outside the top four again next season after they failed to secure a place in Europe, finishing seventh in the League and a massive 20 points behind Liverpool.

It was due to the teams poor results throughout the season that David Moyes was sacked as Manager but Fowler also believes that the Man U players need to substantially improve if they’re to be successful next year.

Fowler has also stated that he thinks it likely that United will finish behind teams like Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool next season despite reports that the failing side are due to appoint highly experienced Louis van Gaal as their new Manager.

Despite van Gaal being encouraged to spend serious money when replacing  players such as Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra, Fowler believes there is still much work to do, no matter who van Gaal signs.

Speaking to Talk Sport, Fowler commented:

“I don’t believe Manchester United will finish in the top four next season. Every team is going to improve. It’s going to be very tough for them.”
