Dalglish: LFC’s away point at Palace will be ‘ironic’ if the Redmen win the title

Former Liverpool player Kenny Dalglish has commented on his Twitter account that that Liverpool’s away point at Crystal Palace will be ‘ironic’ should Liverpool finish top of the table.

Although they gained a 0-3 advantage playing away at Selhurt in April, the 3-3 draw on Monday against Crystal Palace gave Manchester City a distinct advantage in the race for the title.

lfc-booksCity now need now four points in their last two games to secure their second league title in just three years. The first step to achieving this begins at the Etihad tonight where they’re due to play Aston Villa.

Of course, should they fail to perform at either this match or the following against West Ham, and Liverpool win against Newcastle at home on the final day of the season, then that single point away at Crystal Palace could mean that Liverpool finally secure the title after 24 long, hard years.

Former Liverpool legend, player and Manager Dalglish has today highlighted this possible glimmer of hope by tweeting:

“Wouldn’t it be ironic if that point at Palace was decisive in our title race. Won’t know until Sunday’s games.”
