Daily transfer news: Luiz Suarez, Mario Balotelli, Caner Erkin, Seydou Keita

With constant chatter from all camps concerning the will he/won’t he speculation over Luis Suarez and a possible move away from Anfield, talk has turned to his potential replacement. Mario Balotelli could well be a target to fill this role according to Forza Italia Football.

Should Suarez receive an offer too good to refuse from Spain, Baoltelli is reported as saying he would be keen on a move back to Enngland. The former Manchester City striker could potentially have the choice between two big clubs, Liverpool FC and Arsenal who might make a play for the striker if they cannot agree terms with Real Madrid for French striker Karim Benzema.

Balotelli, while certainly an impressive finisher scoring 20 Premier League goals over 54 appearances for Man City does come with a reputation for off-field incidents. He signed for AC Milan in January 2013 for a fee of around 20million euros.

As reported in the Daily Star, LFC are also set to battle Chelsea to secure the services of Turkish left back Caner Erkin who’s contract at Fenerbache finishes in June. A meeting with his bosses to decide his future is set for tomorrow and LFC and Chelsea aresure to be watching the outcome keenly.

A further  two clubs in Europe, Inter Milan and Roma, are said to have shown an interest in the 25 year old, however, Erkin’s agentBatur Altıparmak, has said:

“I don’t usually like giving names but it is great for the players confidence that clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea are showing an interest.

“We haven’t agreed anything with Fenerbahce.

“We will hold talks with the club tomorrow.”

The possibility of securing players who are available on a free transfer is sure to feature large in Brendan Rodgers plans and Valencia midfielder Seydou Keita fits that bill perfectly.

Currently at Valencia after being transferred there on a short term deal from Barcelona, that contract is now coming to a close and the 34 year old will be looking for a new club in which to see out the remainder of his career. Should Rodgers have confidence that Keita can continue to perform, that home may well be Anfield.
