Andreas Weimann speaks out ahead of tonight’s critical match

Villa’s star striker Andreas Weimann has spoken out ahead of tonight’s important match where Manchester City are set to play at the Etihad. He has indicated that he fully intends to repeat his herioics from earlier in the season where he scored a last minute goal against City. If he makes good on his promise, it could provide yet another twist in the race for the title.Speaking to the Daily Star, the Austrian player is quoted as saying:

lfc-books”We have put some brilliant performances in against a few of the top teams and got some great wins, but we have lost when we thought we shouldn’t have.”

“It hasn’t been easy but Saturday’s win was important. We’ll definitely go there and we can play with freedom because we’re safe. We won’t go there and give in. We have beaten them once so we’ll see what we can do away.”

Weimann’s scoring record is strong, he scored twice against Hull City at exactly the right time, securing his team a 3-1 win. That, coupled with the lack of pressure due to Villa being out of the title race is sure to contribute to an exciting game tonight.

Paul Lambert, Villa’s Manager, seems confident and has said:

“We go to City in a better state for that. We can go there with the shackles off. But whatever team City put out, they have loads of world class players and that’s what you are up against.”
